Range/Stove/Oven Repair – Replacing the Electronic Clock Control (Whirlpool Part # 71003424)

ll simply take the new

Hi it’s Jack from AustinAppliancePros. Today we are going to show you how to change the electronic clock control board on your wall oven and it's a easy job, all you are going to need is a Phillips screwdriver, let me show you how we do it.

Now before we begin this repair the first thing we’ll need to do is to disconnect the power to the wall oven, so find the breaker or the fuse panel and discontinue the power at that point because the wall oven will be a hard-wired unit, and once we've done that we can open the oven door and then across the bottom of the control panel assembly there are four Phillips screws, we need to remove those, now once we've removed the screws we can close that door again. Next we are going to lift up slightly on that control panel and unhook it from the top, it just hooks over a metal piece across the top of the frame on that wall oven, you can tilt it forward and we’ll locate the clock right in the center, and so we will first of all disconnect the three wire harnesses and we unplug those and then we will remove four ¼ inch hex head screws, now we can simply lift the clock out of the control panel and we can hang that back on the front of the oven, we’ll discard the old clock and we’ll simply take the new clock and we’ll position it in the center over the 4 screws holes and the insert one of those screws just to hold it in place, and we will put a second one in there on the opposite and then put the remaining two in.

Once we have all the screws in we can reconnect the three wire harnesses, make sure that we have them completely inserted into their sockets and we can tilt control panel back up into position hook it over the top, center it up and we'll open the oven door again and reinstall the Phillips screws that secure the control panel, make sure the screws are nice and tight, now we can reconnect the power and our repair is complete. I told you it was an easy job, thanks for watching and good luck with your repair.
