Jack: Hi, its Jack from AustinAppliancePros, today we are going to show you how to change the clock on your range, it’s a really easy job, all we are going to need, is a #1 square head screw driver, and a pair of needle nose pliers, let me show you how we do it.
Now the first step in this repair will be to disconnect the power to the range, it has a cord on it, simply disconnect it from your receptacle, if it’s a hard wired range, we’ll need to locate the fuses or the breakers, and turn them off. Now access to the clock is through the back panel, so you’ll have to pull the range far enough ahead that you can get behind it and remove its three screws across the bottom and one across the top of this upper access panel. Take the bottom ones off first, and now your support the back panel and remove the top screw, just set that aside, and then that gives you access to the clock. Now clock is held in place with four screws, two on each end, and of course all the wires are across the bottom, now either take a piece of paper and write down the color codes for each of these wires, and where they go to on the clock, or you could take your new clock, line it up, remove each wire individually and connect to the new clock.
Make sure each of those wires fit tight on the new terminals, now we just simply need to remove the four screws, lift the old clock assembly out. Next we are going to remove the escutcheon across the front and it is held on with an adhesive, so you want to take very good care that we don’t damage it as we remove it, and we will lay that across the new clock, make sure it lines up perfectly with the edges. There should be enough adhesive left on it to firmly adhere to the new clock, and you set it back in place, and reinstall the four screws, and now we are ready to put the back panel on.
So we line up the top of the back panel first, and secure it, the one screw, now we are ready to reconnect the power, and our repair is complete. I told you it was an easy job. Thanks for watching, and good luck with your repair.
